Who Beau was
Beau grew up in different corners of the world, moving often during his father’s years of military service. After his father retired, the family settled in the Verde Valley of Arizona — the place that would come to shape him, and where Camp Verde High School became a defining chapter in his wrestling story.
He leaves behind his children, Hunter and Ellie, whose lives carry the best parts of him forward: his strength, his tenderness, and the love he poured into his family.
He wrestled for Camp Verde High School, where he became a State Champion and where teammates knew him as the one who stayed late, showed up early, and pulled everyone else up with him.
That same drive carried him well beyond high school. He continued his wrestling career at North Iowa Area Community College in Iowa, Midland University in Nebraska, and Grand Canyon University in Arizona, before completing his education at Yavapai College in Arizona — earning his Associate of Applied Science degree and becoming a registered nurse. Beau became an RN because he loved helping people, and he gave that care to everyone who crossed his path.
Beau believed that wrestling gave you more than medals. It gave you discipline when things were hard, humility when you lost, and the courage to face someone across the circle with nothing but what you’d earned in practice. Those are the lessons this scholarship exists to pass on.
He never once backed down from a hard thing. He just tightened his laces and got to work.
